The Board of Trustees is committed to providing a safe and healthy working and learning environment for all employees, students, volunteers and the general public.  The board recognizes that safe working procedures and conditions, accident prevention and the preservation of health are high priorities.  These responsibilities are shared responsibility between the board, superintendent, staff, staff group representatives, as well as government, parents/guardians, students, volunteers, visitors, contractors and subcontractors.

The board has further strengthened its focus on ensuring workers’ safety in the workplace to meet additional legislative requirements ensuring workers know, participate in, and understand their rights to refuse unsafe work, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act - November 2022.

The board values the work of the division committee to carry forward training, safety checks, and educational requirements to ensure competent supervision of workplace safety.
