Lee Ann Lagacé CPA

Lee Ann has been a St Albert resident for 30 years. Her employment included working in financial administrative roles for Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre and Shoppers Drug Mart, before moving on to school jurisdictions for the next 32 years. She retired from St Albert Public Schools as the Assistant Secretary Treasurer, after 24 years.

During her years working with school divisions, Lee Ann also served as a Director for the Association of School Business Officials of Alberta (ASBOA) for two terms. This role includes liaison with educational partners including Alberta School Boards Association, Alberta Teachers’ Association, Alberta School Councils’ Association, and the provincial government.

She also completed her Certified School Business Official designation through ASBOA. Lee Ann is keenly aware of the financial pressures schools and educators must work through while successfully delivering quality education to students. Now, she can serve students and educators in a different capacity, advocating for local autonomy and  appropriate provincial support in a non-partisan environment that puts students, educators, and local interests first.

Students’ experiences and opportunities are crucial as they explore who they are and  where they want their journeys to take them. The education system should continue to support individual learners’ needs and interests in a safe environment that encourages critical thinking, personal growth and confidence.

As a trustee, Lee Ann will bring her previous experience in school business to a  governance capacity as she works to continue to build a framework for students, educators, and the school community to thrive in. She is excited about contributing to a dynamic division that is committed to helping learners explore their full potential.
