Edwin Parr nominee

Congratulations to Taylor Good, St. Albert Public Schools’ nominee for the provincial Edwin Parr first-year teacher award.

Taylor will be recognized for this accomplishment at our May 14th Public Board Meeting.

Taylor teaches French Language Arts, Études sociales, English Language Arts, Late French Immersion, Physical Education and Academic Coaching at École Hillgrove School. During his short time with our division, he has already has become very well respected by both parents and students, working tirelessly to support learning with his attention to curriculum and assessment while building a safe, caring and respectful environment for students, families and colleagues alike.

As a French Immersion teacher, Taylor has demonstrated an excellent command of the language of instruction, and uses it dynamically and effectively in his interactions with students and colleagues. He has also engaged in professional learning related to decolonizing and indigenizing our school's approach to Social Studies, and has been an excellent addition to the extra-curricular offerings at Hillgrove. Taylor has coached the junior boys volleyball team, chaperoned school dances, helped out with the junior high Ski Club, and supervised Outdoor Education trips. He will also be coaching badminton and  supervising the school's annual grade 9 Voyage au Québec.

We know he has a bright career ahead of him and are thrilled to have him on our team. Congratulations on this well-earned nomination, Taylor!
