“Public education is the foundation of our community. I am committed to ensuring every
student feels included, supported, and prepared for a bright future.” – Kim Armstrong

Kim Armstrong is running for re-election as a St. Albert Public School Board Trustee.
She has had the privilege of serving our community for three terms and has come to
appreciate the importance of locally governed decision-making and policy
development that is student-centred, meaningful to parents, and reflective of our
community in providing the best possible education for our children. Kim is passionate
about equity in education, ensuring that every student—regardless of background—has
the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

As St. Albert continues to grow, Kim, a proud resident of The Gardens community,
believes this has never before been more critical than it is right now. Her priority is
ensuring schools remain at the heart of our community: safe, inclusive, innovative,
and ready to prepare every student for the future

Her focus for the Board will be to:

  • Champion student success and wellbeing through the promotion of equitable and
    inclusive learning opportunities
  • Invite meaningful collaboration with students, families and caregivers, community
groups, local organizations and businesses towards supporting the development
    of career pathways education
  • Continue to advocate provincially for recognition and resources to provide
Inclusive Education with relevant standards and supports for today’s current
    reality
  • Develop direction and policy that begins to address technology in ways that
supports students, staff, and St. Albert Public Schools
  • And yes – Get new schools

Currently employed part time with the Learning Centre Literacy Association, a
community adult learning program for foundational literacy, numeracy, and digital skills
Kim is also serving as the vice chairperson for the volunteer board of St. Albert Further
Education and Star Literacy. She brings both lived experience and a strong community
perspective to her work. Kim knows firsthand how vital it is to provide K-12 school
experiences that support young people in achieving the knowledge, skills, and
critical thinking ability to transition with success and confidence to adulthood.

For over two decades, Kim Armstrong has been a passionate advocate for public school
education in St. Albert. As a parent of three St. Albert Public graduates, a grandmother
of six, a long-time trustee and a former Board Chair, she brings trusted experience,
dedication, and heart to the role of Trustee.

With her experience, passion, and proven leadership, Kim Armstrong is ready to
continue her advocacy for students and families as a Trustee with St. Albert
Public Schools with accountability and integrity.
