Congratulations to our Edwin Parr First Year Teacher Award nominee, Sabina Ogrodiuk.

Sabina will be recognized for this accomplishment at our May 15th Public Board Meeting.

Sabina teaches Grade 1 French Immersion at Leo Nickerson Elementary School, where she works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for her students. She thinks critically about her instructional practices and is always eager to learn more about approaches that enhance student learning and achievement. She understands that meeting a child’s emotional needs, fostering their social development, and aiding in the development of strong values, ethics and the ability to make a positive impact in the world are equally important. Sabina tailors her instructional methods to best suit individual learning needs, and has fostered a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and capable of success.

Sabina is committed to continuously improving her teaching practice, collaborating with colleagues and engaging in ongoing professional development. As the school’s ATA lead, she works diligently to promote understanding of ongoing issues and trends facing educators, working to not only enrich educational outcomes in her own classroom but also in the greater school community.

We know she has a bright career ahead of her and are thrilled to have her on our team. Congratulations on this well-earned nomination, Sabina!
