Off-Campus Learning & Dual Credit

The off-campus learning programs give high school students the opportunity to expand their learning beyond the classroom. Off-campus learning includes both career-focused (work experience and RAP), and academic (dual credit) opportunities.

Work Experience

Work experience gives students the opportunity to gain work experience, while also earning high school credits. This is great for students who already have a part-time job, but is also open to students who aren't currently employed (the off-campus coordinator can help students find employment).

The program helps set students discover their career interests, and further their personal development, career planning and employability skills.

Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)

RAP is a modified apprenticeship program that lets students complete a high school diploma while starting a trade-specific career. A RAP apprentice accumulates hours of on-the-job training as credit towards their apprenticeship, plus credit towards their high school diploma.

Dual Credit

Dual Credit gives students the opportunity to jump-start their post-secondary pursuits while still in high school. The program creates experiences and offers courses students may not experience at the high-school level. Students are encouraged to explore education opportunities and take risks, and can do so with minimal financial investment compared to that of a normal post-secondary course. Students end with credits towards high school graduation, plus a post-secondary transcript.
