What To Do If Your Child Is Ill

 Every day, parents and students are responsible for completing the Alberta Health Services screening questionnaire before arriving at school.

  • fever
  • cough (new or worsening)
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    (new or worsening)
  • runny nose
  • sore throat

What should you do next?

  1. Call the Health Link at 811.
  2. You are legally required to have your child isolate for at least 10 days or until they are symptom free, whichever is longer.
  3. We strongly recommend you have your child tested for COVID-19 (book online at albertahealthservices.ca or call 811).

Children must stay home and minimize contact with others if they have the following symptoms:

  • chills
  • painful swallowing
  • stuffy nose
  • headache
  • muscle or joint aches
  • feeling unwell, fatigue or severe exhaustion
  • nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or unexplained loss of appetite
  • loss of sense of smell or taste
  • conjunctivitis (pink eye)

What should you do next?

  1. Call the Health Link at 811.
  2. We strongly encourage you to have your child tested for COVID-19.
  3. Keep your child at home until they are symptom free.


When can your child return to school?
