Recreation Academy

About

The Recreation (Rec) Academy provides students with an opportunity to explore a wide range of activities that go well beyond the typical school experience.  This program will provide quality experiences for all students, exposing them to a rich and dynamic scope of indoor and outdoor experiences. This program is geared to any and all individuals who want to be active and experience new and unique sports and challenges.

Grades 4-6

The elementary Rec program is offered one afternoon a week. Students participate in non-traditional physical education sports like canoeing, archery, rock climbing, fencing and ninja warrior workouts, along with more traditional sports activities.

Fees

  • Rec 4 (~34 Rec days): $75/month
  • Rec 5 (~36 Rec days): $78/month
  • Rec 6 (~30 Rec days): $66/month
Fees cover busing to and from activities, admissions, instructional costs and a clothing package.

Grades 7-9

Students in this program will be off site three afternoons every week.

Some examples of activities students will participate in include:
  • Scuba Diving
  • Snorkelling
  • Canoeing/Kayaking
  • Racquet Sports
  • Wilderness Training
  • Wall and Ice Climbing
  • Mountain Biking
  • Ice Sports

Fees

$150/month

Fees cover busing to and from venues and the cost of the activities.

Students who live outside of the schools' catchment areas may have access to busing to and from school, but will be charged the division cost for transportation.
