We are excited to be in the construction stage for Joseph M. Demko School, named after a former St. Albert Public Schools teacher, administrator, superintendent and trustee.

When will the school open?

We are planning for a September 2019 opening.

What programs will the school offer?

The school will offer English and Logos Christian programs. It will also have an array of options for our junior high students. We will be integrating the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Math) at all grade levels.

What grades will the school serve?

The school will serve students in Kindergarten - Grade 9. The English program will open from Kindergarten - Grade 7 however if there is enough interest, we will open Grade 8 & 9 as well. The Logos Program will open from Kindergarten - Grade 9. The school has a capacity of 900 students.

What areas will the school serve?

The school will welcome students from Jensen Lakes, Erin Ridge North (north of Costco) and the western portion of Riverside for the English program, and from throughout the city for the Logos Christian program.

How do I register my child at Joseph M. Demko?

Pre-registration is now underway. Students currently attending one of our district schools who live in the designated neighbourhoods for JMD or are currently enrolled in the Logos program received a registration package from their current school. Students new to our district can register by filling out our district registration form and submitting it to our district office or emailing it to jmd@spschools.org as soon as possible to hold their spot.

If I live outside the boundaries of the school, would I still be able to enroll my child?

Registrations from outside of the boundaries will be considered until we reach a capacity of 70%, or 630 students. These registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Will the school offer before-and-after school daycare?

Yes, we have contracted with SIGIS to offer out-of-school care. For more information or to fill out a registration form for SIGIS, please click here. Please note, these forms need to be returned to SIGIS, not to the school district. Contact information is on the form.

What will the school look like?
