Project of Heart
Project of Heart was created by a teacher in Ottawa to acknowledge and commemorate the lives of the thousands of Indigenous families, communities and children who were affected by and/or died as a result of the residential school experience. Since the inception of the project, hundreds of schools across Canada have implemented Project of Heart in their own classrooms.
In 2017, our Wisdom and Guidance Collective supported all of the schools across our division as they completed the Project of Heart. Teachers came together with community members to develop lesson plans to support implementation.
This division-wide project served as the foundation of our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
