Kristi Rouse

Hi! I’m Kristi Rouse. I’ve resided in St. Albert since 2006, and have been an active member in the community ever since! In 2009, I became a mom to my oldest son and in 2011 my husband and I welcomed our second.
When my oldest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2015, my experience with public education was changed forever – I will forever advocate not only for my own children, but for all children and families for a public education system that supports the needs of every child.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve held positions on a variety of boards, committees and working groups, that all appealed to my desire to provide better support for children and families, including:
- Chair, Family Supports for Children with Disabilities Regional Parent Advisory Committee
- Director & Treasurer, Strategic Alliance for Alberta Students with Learning Challenges Society
- Director, Autism Society of Edmonton Area
- Parent Member, Alberta Education Time Out, Seclusion and Physical Restraint Working Group
- Director & Treasurer, Plugged In Community Centre Organization
- Director & Treasurer, St. Albert Family Resource Centre
- School Councils and School Fundraising Associations
In 2010, I stepped away from my corporate position as a Chartered Professional Accountant and have worked alongside my husband in his residential real estate business overseeing the administration and financial aspects.
In 2015, my husband and I founded the Rouse Family Fund with the St. Albert Community Foundation in which we donate a portion of the business profits to provide ongoing assistance to local charities with a primary focus on assisting children and families.
It is my belief that everyone has a stake in public education, regardless of whether they currently have children or grandchildren in the education system, and I, Kristi Rouse would be honored to serve the residents of St. Albert as St. Albert Public School Board Trustee.
