St. Albert Public Schools has experienced unprecedented growth in the last several years. Our Kindergarten-Grade 4 enrollment alone has increased 33%, and we are now a district of more than 8,000 students. At this rate of growth, it won’t be long before we are a district of 10,000 students. But what will this district of 10,000 look like? This question is the driving force behind our new stakeholder initiative, Transition 10,000, whereby we prepare to meet the needs of a district this size. To meet these needs, however, we need to hear from our community about what they value in education. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us as we prepare for Transition 10,000.
We asked our stakeholders for their input through a Thoughtexchange discussion. The first phase of this discussion was open until November 16th, and the second phase closed November 30th. This is the phase in which participants were asked to assign their stars to the thoughts they value the most.
We had more than 1,000 respondents on the first phase, and more than 1,700 in the second, with more than 203,000 stars assigned! Thank you to all who participated, as we have gleaned valuable information through this process.
We are now pleased to share the results of our Thoughtexchange discussion with our stakeholders. To view the results, please click here.
