St. Albert Public Schools is pleased to be working with the Alberta Teachers' Association Local No. 73 and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1099 on a program called Healthy Interactions.
Healthy Interactions is designed to help staff communicate effectively and resolve issues before they become conflicts. The district is very proud of the excellent working relationships our schools have with students, parents and staff. However, we can all benefit from focused and coordinated efforts to improve communication, and this program provides an excellent opportunity for our district to be proactive in this area. When concerns arise at school, parents and school staff often share the same goal, although they may approach it from different perspectives. Healthy Interactions focuses on opening up the lines of communication and finding this common goal.
All schools have staff members who have been trained as facilitators, and these facilitators share their knowledge with the rest of their colleagues throughout the year. To find out more about Healthy Interactions, please contact Human Resources at 780.460.3712.
